Cars Toon: Mater’s Tall Tales Wii Game Review

When Cars came out wow was it a smash at our house!  We all had our favorite.  But Mater...  Mater holds a special place in our funny bone!  He's just so hilarious.  We love the shorts they have on Disney channel...Speaking of them.... There is now a Wii game based on that silly Mater's "stories"! 
  
Game Overview:
Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales is inspired by Disney/Pixar's wildly popular animated shorts of the same name. Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales is part of the Mania! video game franchise, featuring fast-paced, multiplayer, family fun. The game is a frenzied pick-up-and-play experience to be enjoyed by everyone in the room.

The game will bring Mater together with Lightning McQueen and the "Cars" gang for a new set of adventures, capturing the endearing sense of humor of everyone's favorite tow truck. Players will join Mater and his pals as they relive the wild stories he conjures up about hilariously unpredictable events that may or may not have taken place. 
 

Game Features:

• Four player simultaneous gameplay
• Play cooperatively or competitively with family and friends
• Customize the look of cars with collectibles earned in gameplay
• Experience all of the Mater's Tall Tales cartoon shorts in 30+ games

My Thoughts:

I really loved that all 4 kids could play at the same time.  Not too many Wii games all my kids are into have that.  And having to take turns can really be torture for some! {I'm always LAST!}  Perfect whole family game.  We just got our Wii last year and it's been the best Christmas gift I think we ever bought.  We all get into it.  I knew my kids would love this game...but I had no idea Daddy and I would!

Right now my kids are very much into another Disney game, Toontown.  {It's an online game.}  But what they love about it is the ability to earn "jelly beans" and customize themselves.  This was one of the big pluses on Mater's Tall Tales.  You can customize your car!  My 3 boys LOVE that!  I do too.  My car is pretty and uniform, while Daddy's and the boys are very much "theirs". 

I liked they can all play together {in perfect harmony}...yea right, they prefer to challenge each other.  But the game offers both.  Team play and competition.  I have 2 older boys about a year apart and EVERYTHING is a competition!  We all had a blast, and when they say all ages, they mean it.  My 4 year old little lady can understand it and work it, and i feel good allowing her to because it is Cars.  I know the storyline, and they stay true to it.

Overall, this game is a win!  If your kids loved Cars and the shorts on Disney they're gonna love this game.  It's a cartoon they can play!
