Scientific Explorer & Elmer's Science Fair Prize Package Review & Giveaway {Summer Kick Off Event!}

With summer vacation quickly approaching, I'm always looking for the next thing the kids can do that's fun but also educational.  Home schooling the kids was awesome because year round I had them doing stuff. I know summer vacation is traveling with family, swimming, bbq's but, did you know that kids can actually forget some of what they learned!  Yeah, talk about a waste of time, right?!  Keeping the kids sharp and plugged into science and math especially, I think, is key to having a successful student.

I was very excited to work with Elmer's and Scientific Explorer to review some neat products for science...  and math!

I Received:
Volcanoes are one of the most awesome forces found in nature.  When they erupt - watch out!  They can shoot rocks and gases miles into the air and their lava flows can outrace a speeding car.  Let's try that at home!  In this kit, you'll find everything you need to create an amazing volcanic blast.  You'll cause your own eruption and watch the lava blow!  Plus you'll learn some really cool science that explains how volcanoes form and why they explode. Volcano can erupt up to 10 times!
Includes plaster, baking soda, citric acid, red food coloring, 1 measuring cup, 1 measuring spoon, 1 stir stick, 1 volcano mold top, 1 volcano mold base, 1 volcano stand, and activity guide.
Give your presentation a professional edge. Lightweight and smooth foam display board is tri-fold and stands up by itself. Size is 36" x 48" open and 36" x 24" closed. Smooth surface is perfect for paints, markers, glue, and other embellishments. Perfect for science fair, school projects, and business presentations.
Dual Tip Permanent Markers –Includes 4 dual ended markers with 8 permanent ink colors! Create thick lines by drawing with the side and thin lines by drawing with the tip. Perfect for school projects and all your craft needs!
Contains 90 total stencils including Letters, Numbers, Symbols & Shapes in both 2" and 1" sizes. Durable plastic material can be used over and over again! Bonus mechanical pencil, too!

I wish I had video of it exploding.  I'm not really sure where it went.  I know we took video of it.  Sorry guys, but let me just say...  It was cool!  Not as big of an explosion more of a gurgle. LOL  We messed with the measurements and got a pretty good result from it at the end.

For most the kids, they knew all about science fairs.  But the four youngest learned something new.  I think the 2 fourth graders got the most out of it.  They really want to put up an exhibit at the science fair this year!  The instruction and construction was all done completely by the kids.  From start to finish.  The kids ages were 14,12,11,10,9,6,6,5 and 4.  Each had their own "job".  Even though the youngests don't really "get it", I like having them participate in every step and listen to everything because it lays that foundation for later.

I had the older kids {14, 12,11 & 10} make the posters for our "home science fair".  I really like the Elmer's Project Popperz letters.  They're like post-its.  Totally removable without anything left behind.  So you can get the letter aligned right without making it look ugly and noticeable that you messed it.  The double sided markers are nice too because instead of having a mess of different color markers you have only half.

You want a great science fair exhibit, these are great tools!
