My boys are boys who play in dirt, love bugs and thinks it's fun to smell each other...  My oldest particularly loves anything living.  He's had so many pets... gerbils, turtles, frogs, tarantulas, bunnies, grasshoppers, crickets, cats, dogs,  anything this kid finds, he keeps.. eventually some are set free other go to God.  He's simply fascinated with their ways of life.  When he grows up he wants to become a vet or a scientist who studies bugs, an entomologist.

One he hasn't watched is the ant.  So I thought lets give it a go.  Putting everything together and ready was a snap.  Anthony did most of the work {11 y/o} Catching them turned out to be a whole family thing.  Almost like a little competition...Who's snack was going to attract the most!  Also learning what ants really love!  Plain ol' crackers is what I did my ant fishing with, and it worked the best!  We had kids put out hotdog pieces, candy, apples... but Mommas crackers did the trick the faster. {*brushes shoulders off*}

These tiny things are quick at working out a system!  We got a magnifying glass with the kit so we could see the ants at work like real scientists!  Besides the cool LED lights that change, it really is amazingly cool to see what and how it is ants work.

    Have you seen this? It's pretty cool to my geeky mind anyway.
    When I go to Think Geek (and I do often) I go straight to gadgets. I love them and the humor they put in their descriptions.
    I would like to get this http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/travelpower/bf38/

    Let me know if this is wrong, right, or indifferent, OK? Hate to be DQ'd for my twitter-ignorance.
